Amid Seddighi creating masks, Ca’ del Sol, Venice, Italy

February 2020, the Carnival of Venice.

My thoughts were wandering on how the carnival is not only a joyful and fun event but mostly an expression of human creativity.

It all started in 1162, from a victory of the Venice Republic against the Patriarch of Aquileia. Celebrating the victory, the people of Venice started to gather and dance in San Marco Square.

In these days, artists from all over the world make stunning costumes and creations on characters and worthwhile events, rich in symbolism and figuration.

Working in a creative agency on photography and storytelling it is like celebrating every day a carnival!

A life absorbed into fantasy, building new realities and creative ideas. All to offer a different, punchy and inquisitive perspective of the daily realm. Missing it would make life obvious, monotone and less intriguing.

To pay homage to this ancient and magnificent celebration, please enjoy this little "scherzo" in pictures and music, produced by a fabulous team (see bottom credits).
